Charity Tapas Evening Raises £13,000 – On Thursday 29th June, we were delighted to welcome over 100 guests to the wonderful José Pizarro at The Swan Inn, Esher, for tapas, paella and an evening of fundraising organised by project21forlife in support of the John King Brain Tumour Foundation. We are pleased to share that we raised a staggering £13,000 which will help enormously towards creating a ‘Forest in the Sky’ Garden at St. George’s Neuro ICU.
The evening was hosted on the beautiful terrace at The Swan where the barbeques were fired up for the true taste of grilled tapas classics alfresco.
The evening included a heartfelt speech from Projectforlife’s founders, Richard and Christine Sullivan and a lively auction hosted by Max Arthur who sold off an array of enticing items including a round of golf and lunch for 4 people at The Royal Automobile Club, Dinner for six at Jose Pizarro’s The Swan Inn, a Jos Buttler signed shirt, an overnight stay for two guests at Sea Containers London including breakfast and £100 credit to spend in the Sea Containers Restaurant. Those interested in sporting events were not disappointed; Chelsea and Fulham FC tickets, along with 2 tickets to one of the Six Nations rugby matches at Twickenham in 2024, with offsite hospitality were kindly donated by Brickability.
Project21forlife was set up in March 2022 by The Sullivan family after Richard’s diagnosis of a brain tumour, to fundraise for the John King Brain Tumour Foundation and has already raised an incredible £76,000. Our Forest in the Sky project will provide a restful space for critical care patients, carers and loved ones who are all coping with the impact of extremely difficult and traumatic circumstances. It promises to have benefits to rehabilitation as patients become re-acquainted with the outside world. and use their senses to stimulate the healing process.
