Earlier this month Andrew Burton took on the challenge of cycling from Munich to Rome. A journey of 880 miles over the alps and down the Appenines.

From Munich to Rome on a Bamboo Bike

As in previous years Andrew was riding to support both his local Princess Alice Hospice and the John King Brain Tumour Foundation.

“Not only our son, James, but several good friends and acquaintances of ours have fallen prey to brain tumours. Survival statistics for brain tumours are not comforting; we count our blessings still today that James’s tumour was non-aggressive and that he had a wonderful surgeon.

Both of these causes need our ongoing support, so I am continuing to ride and continuing to ask for donations to help them keep up their valuable work”.

Congratulations Andrew on this outstanding achievement. It sounds like your journey was great in so many ways with the beautiful scenery of the Tirol and Lake Garda and then the stunning architecture in the piazzas of cities and towns like Mantua, Pistoia, Siena, Orvieto and Tivoli.
