At the John King Brain Tumour Foundation, we believe that care extends far beyond medical treatment – it’s also about the environment in which patients and families spend their time. That’s why this year we committed to supporting the “Time for a Change” Transformation Programme at St George’s Paediatric Wards in Tooting.

Paediatric Wards Transformation – Time for a Change

“Time for a Change” Transformation Programme

For many families, the hospital becomes a second home during treatment. Spaces such as playrooms and family kitchens are more than just facilities – they are lifelines. A playroom gives children a chance to escape, to feel joy and comfort even in the middle of difficult days. A welcoming family kitchen provides parents and carers with a space to prepare food, take a moment of rest, and gather strength to support their loved ones.

The existing areas at St George’s were in desperate need of modernisation. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we are proud to announce that £90,000 has been raised to fund a brand-new family kitchen and playroom. Work is scheduled to begin in early 2026, and we cannot wait to see these vital spaces transformed into brighter, more supportive environments for the children and families who need them most.

This achievement is a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when people come together. Every donation – large or small – makes a huge difference. It allows us to fund projects that have a lasting impact on patients and families during some of the hardest times of their lives.

We are deeply grateful to each and every supporter who helped us reach this milestone. With your continued kindness, we can ensure that the Paediatric Wards at St George’s is not only a place of excellent medical care but also one of warmth, hope, and healing.

Thank you for making “Time for a Change” possible. Together, we are creating brighter tomorrows for children and their families.
