Guildford Cathedral Abseil 2026 (date to be confirmed)

Guildford Cathedral Abseil 2026

Take a leap for the John King Brain Tumour Foundation and join us for a charity abseil at Guildford Cathedral

If you fancy a thrilling, fun and extremely rewarding challenge whilst raising money for our amazing charity, please join us and abseil down Guildford Cathedral.

You will climb the Tower’s spiral staircase of 249 steps to a height of 160ft (49m) and enjoy the wonderful panoramic views of Guildford … before climbing over the top and descending!

We ran this activity in 2024, and participants described the abseil as exhilarating.  It will be a great day with lots of support and most importantly, you will be making a real difference in helping us to improve outcomes for patients with brain diseases.

Damien’s reflections of his day in 2024:

On the day of the abseil, the atmosphere was filled with apprehension, mainly due to the initial weigh in for some of us!! Myself, my fiancée Lauren, my Mum Julie, Dads best friend Bruce and brother-in-law John was ready to take on the challenge.

We randomly managed to persuade two of our neighbours, Martin and Claire, who had come to watch, to join us in the abseil. Their spontaneous participation added even more excitement to the day. Although Martin didn’t look best pleased once he was at the summit!!

The descent was thrilling and exciting, hearing the cheers from our friends, family, and community below was incredibly uplifting. For Dad, seeing everyone come together meant the world. It was a testament to his strength and the support that has surrounded us.

More details of this opportunity will be available soon. If you are interested, please contact and we will send more information as soon as it is confirmed.
